Kitsap County Expands Wildfire Prep Campaign

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Kitsap County and 12 other Western Washington counties, along with the Suquamish Tribe, are expanding their 'Ready, Set, Go!' wildfire evacuation messaging campaign for the upcoming season. The campaign, which includes King, Pierce, Snohomish, Clark, Thurston, Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, Island, Clallam, Grays Harbor, and Jefferson counties, aims to help residents prepare for wildfire emergencies. Kitsap County Emergency Management (KCDEM) coordinates the effort and encourages community members to sign up for the Kitsap ALERT system to receive emergency notifications. Residents can also attend the free READY BREMERTON 2026 disaster preparedness fair on September 19 at Evergreen Rotary Park, which will feature local organizations offering preparedness resources.
