Multiple Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) projects begin this week with lane closures affecting I-5, I-405, and SR 527.
From 7:31 a.m. July 29 through further notice, the right shoulder of northbound I-5 will be closed between mileposts 9.3 and 11.3 near 179th Street and Gee Creek Rest Area. On the same day, the left lane of northbound I-5 will intermittently close between exits 59 and 60 from 9 p.m. July 29 to 5 a.m. July 30, with the Exit 59 on-ramp also closed. A signed detour will direct drivers to Exit 60.
Southbound I-405 will have up to two lanes closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. through July 31 between mileposts 18.11 and 16.45. Southbound SR 527 will have its center lane closed nightly from 9 p.m. to midnight through July 30 between 214th Street Southeast and the I-405 off-ramp. Drivers should expect delays during these closures.
