Bremerton Seeks Public Comment on 2026 CDBG Funding Plan

The City of Bremerton is accepting written public comments on its 2026 Community Development Block Grant funding recommendations and a draft 2026–2030 Consolidated Plan. The public comment period runs from September 29 through October 30. Comments can be submitted to CDBG Administrator Sarah Lynam at 345 6th Street, Suite 100, Bremerton, WA 98337, or by email at CDBG@bremertonwa.gov.

A public hearing is scheduled for November 5 at 5:30 p.m. during the Bremerton City Council's regularly scheduled meeting. The hearing will focus on the 2026 Projected Use of Funds, which will be incorporated into the city's 2025 Action Plan and the draft 2026–2030 Consolidated Plan. Full project descriptions and funding sources are available on the city's Federal Grants – CDBG webpage.

The city previously issued a Notice of Funding Availability on May 23, 2025, for CDBG-eligible projects as part of the 2026 Coordinated Grant Application cycle. Officials noted that because the federal budgeting process for 2026 has not been finalized, funding amounts may vary significantly from current estimates.

Earlier in the process, the city opened a 15-day public comment period beginning May 1, 2025, on its 2026 CDBG/HOME Policy Plan, which outlines funding priorities developed through planning for the updated consolidated plan. New applicants were required to submit an Application Intent form between May 2 and May 16.
