The City of Bremerton has announced two infrastructure projects affecting different neighborhoods, with a community meeting scheduled for April 29, 2026, to discuss a new sewer project along Tracyton Beach Road NW.
Residents are invited to attend the meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on the first floor of the Norm Dicks Government Center, located at 345 6th Street in Bremerton. The meeting will provide details about the upcoming sewer project, allow residents to ask questions, and keep the community informed about the work ahead.
Separately, the City will install a traffic calming measure on Almira Drive at Clemens Street following a speed study conducted in December 2025. The study found excessive speeding in the posted 25 mph zone. In response, the City will construct a "chicane" โ a narrowing of the roadway using paint and delineators that requires drivers to navigate slight bends โ at the intersection. Installation will be completed by city crews this spring, weather permitting.
The chicane is described as a "quick-build" measure under the city's recently adopted Traffic Calming Policy. Permanent improvements to Almira Drive are planned as part of an upcoming Phase 2 construction project connected to the View Ridge Elementary Safe Routes program.
