Washington State Patrol (WSP) is seeking witnesses to an injury hit-and-run collision that occurred on June 25, 2026, at 1:56 a.m. on westbound State Route 96 near Dumas Road/Elgin Way SE in Bremerton. A pedestrian was struck by a silver/grey late 1990s or early 2000s Chevrolet Tahoe with an unknown license plate, which fled the scene. The vehicle continued westbound on SR 96 over Interstate 5 into Everett, Wash., on 128th St SW.
WSP Detective Nick Brockman is asking anyone with information or dash camera footage to call (360) 757-2008. A witness described the driver as a white male in his 40s or 50s with a younger female passenger. Camera footage shows the vehicle is missing its passenger side marker light.
The Chelan Hills Fire, which started July 4, 2026, at 12:05 a.m. near Orondo and Chelan Falls, has prompted state fire mobilization under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan.
