The Bremerton City Council approved the development of a new community park at 123 Oak Street during its Tuesday meeting. The project, which includes playground equipment, picnic areas, and walking paths, is set to break ground in the third quarter of 2026.
The council voted unanimously to move forward with the project after reviewing a detailed proposal from the Parks and Recreation Department. The park will cover approximately 5 acres and is expected to serve residents of the East Bremerton neighborhood.
The development is part of the city's broader initiative to enhance public green spaces. Construction is anticipated to take approximately 12 months, with completion targeted for late 2027.
