Bremerton residents and commuters will face multiple highway closures and lane restrictions beginning this week, according to WSDOT construction updates. The right lane of northbound SR 522 will close from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 to 3 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. Two lanes of I-90 will close in both directions between Eighth Avenue South and the floating bridge from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 to 3 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5. US 101 will have alternating traffic through the Fort Columbia Tunnel from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 3-5. WSDOT notes that some projects will continue through mid-August, including a full closure of SR 161 from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17 for culvert installation.
