Well, I was just out at the coffee shop on Front Street—had my usual oat milk latte, which they still charge me for, though I remember when you could get a cup of coffee and a cookie for a quarter, and the barista knew your name—and I heard the new bus route schedule is out, and I have to say, I'm not sure it's for the better, and another thing, I remember when the bus came right by the old hardware store on the corner, and you could hop on and off without a schedule, and you'd see Mrs. Henderson walking her poodle to the post office, and now they're talking about on-demand rides like it's a fancy new thing, and I'm thinking, what happened to the regular bus that came every fifteen minutes on the dot, and another thing, I heard they're building something on Oyster Bay, which is fine, but I'm not sure the people who live here want to see it, and I remember when the bay was just a place to go for a walk, not a project, and I'm not saying the city shouldn't do things, but I do remember when the city council would have a meeting in the old library, and everyone could sit in the front row and say what they thought, and now it's all on a screen, and I'm not sure that's better, and another thing, I saw a new coffee shop opened on Water Street, and they've got a sign that says 'Bremerton's Newest Coffee Spot,' and I'm thinking, how many new coffee spots have we had since I've been here, and I'm not sure they're all necessary, and I remember when you could park right in front of the coffee shop without worrying about a meter, and I'm not sure that's a good thing, and another thing, I heard the city council is meeting on June 24th, which is fine, but I'm not sure they're listening to the people who live here, and I remember when the council would come out to the neighborhood and talk to us, and now they're just sending emails, and I'm not sure that's the way to do it, and another thing, I heard the new transit schedule is supposed to help people get to work, but I'm not sure it's helping the people who need it most, and I remember when the bus driver would wave to you if you were running late, and now it's all about the app, and I'm not sure that's a good thing, and another thing, I heard the city is going to be doing something with the Oyster Bay project, and I'm not sure they're thinking about the people who live here, and I remember when the city would ask for input before they did anything, and now it's all about the engineers and the permits, and I'm not sure that's the way to go, and another thing, I saw a new sign on the bus saying 'Kitsap Transit' and I'm thinking, how many signs have we had over the years, and I'm not sure it's all for the better, and another thing, I remember when you could just hop on a bus and go wherever you wanted, and now it's all about the schedule, and I'm not sure that's a good thing, and another thing, I heard the city council is meeting on June 24th, and I'm not sure they're listening to the people who live here, and I'm not sure they're thinking about the people who need it most, and another thing, I heard the new transit schedule is supposed to help people get to work, but I'm not sure it's helping the people who need it most, and I remember when the bus driver would wave to you if you were running late, and now it's all about the app, and I'm not sure that's a good thing.
